The darakeh valley follows a mountain river that has long shaped the character of the area. Historically a village and summer retreat, it gradually became one of Tehran’s most beloved going out areas. The lower part of the stream is lined with traditional restaurants, tea houses, and informal seating. As you continue upward, the crowds thin, the terrain becomes steeper, and you get to enjoy nature. Decide yourself how long you will go, the way back is the same.
