Bame Tehran

Bam-e Tehran marks the city’s northern edge, where Tehran opens toward the Tochal Mountains and the higher Alborz range. It is both a viewpoint and an entry zone to one of Iran’s most developed mountain recreation areas. From here, the city stretches out below, while trails, roads, and cable cars lead upward into cooler air and alpine terrain.

The area serves multiple roles at once. Bam-e Tehran itself functions as a promenade and lookout, popular in the evenings for walking and views. Beyond it begins the Tochal Recreation Zone, which includes hiking routes, ski facilities, and one of the world’s longest gondola lines, connecting the city to high-altitude stations deep in the mountains.

What makes Tochal distinctive is accessibility. In a short time, visitors can move from dense urban neighborhoods to alpine conditions, making this zone a central part of Tehran’s everyday relationship with the mountains.
